In 1946 the Duke Luigi Silvestro Camerini, humanist and traveler, arrives in Ischia, looking for a place to create a park expressing great passion for botany. The enchanting place and the surprising analogy with the bay admired by Duke in Ceylon, made him choose the bay of San Montano, where nature found one of its most significant expressions in the springs, which testifies to the history of volcanic Island of Ischia and the possibility of their use in accordance with a tradition that has its roots in the classicity. Today, the physiognomy of the park owes much to the landscaper Ermanno Casasco. His commitment was to create a garden deeply bound to the millennial culture of the place, full of surprises and unexpected solutions, as the variety and magnificence of plants coming from Australia, Japan, South Africa and Brazil.
